Rehabilitation of a town house
San Mateo (Castellón)
Recovery of the architectural elements of interest, combining rustic and modern language
Recovery of the architectural elements of greatest interest: staircases, arcades, walls, roof and façades, and an attempt to combine these elements with contemporary architecture. Inside, a large empty space of triple height is planned, around which the circulations converge, connecting all the existing levels and achieving greater spatial fluidity.

The materials and techniques chosen with criteria of proximity contribute to the search for a harmony rooted in local tradition. Exposed stone and lime plaster on the walls, baked clay on the floors, wood on the ceilings and wrought ironwork make up a traditional palette but applied in a simple, more contemporary and modern language.
